The San Mateo Arboretum Society’s Garden Tour will take place on
Saturday, September 13 – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with
a Tax-Free Plant Sale* at the SMAS Greenhouse – 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This year’s Garden Tour has five spectacular gardens, including:
  • A 2 acre garden designed by Topher Delaney, combining art, sculpture, espalier fruits, grasses, anchored by a beautiful 100 year old home.
  • A 2 1/2 acre historic estate, lovingly restored to it’s former glory, including added enhancements of a pool and tennis courts, making a perfect setting for family & friends.
  • A stately, beautiful garden which will delight the eye with texture and nuance. It is anchored by sprawling oaks, a drought tolerant lawn and a rose garden.
  • A Carmel-inspired pocket garden, lovingly brought to life with hidden treasures by the hobbyist homeowner.
  • A modern, contemporary drought-tolerant garden replete with structure, color and texture, and a dramatic hillside view as a backdrop.

As always, we will have experts and landscape designers in each garden to answer your questions and provide advice. You will also encounter tasty noshes, soothing music and artists.

Round out the day with a visit to our headquarters in Central Park. There you’ll find more artisans selling beautifully crafted items, a gourmet food truck serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks and our day-long Tax-free plant sale* at the Nursery/Greenhouse.

Join us for a day of beauty, fun and inspiration.
Proceeds from this event support our missions to educate the community on horticulture, and to maintain the Rose & Butterfly-Hummingbird Gardens in Central Park. SMAS is a non-profit organization, and ticket price is tax deductible as provided by law.
* Tax-free plant sale is on Sep. 13 only.
